The fear of cancer was dictating every decision I was making, taking away my right to choose. When God confronted me, and showed me I had a choice, I felt empowered again. Neither my fear nor my faith had the power to control my free will. Only I had that authority, and God was reminding me to use it. When I responded by stepping into His stronghold, my decision altered the entire journey of Tom’s cancer. What could have been a season walked in insurmountable fear had been replaced with indescribable faith. My decision to believe for what I could not see, Tom later shared, gave him the faith to believe too. My faith infected the entire family. When our children were fearful, we stood as a covering of faith for them. ~ Chapter 4, Take Captive Our Thoughts.

The power of our confession. It is literally the fuel that gets us to our destination. It was the hope our family clung to while we were walking through my husband’s treatment for cancer. It was also the very thing that kept me going while I wrote this book. The scope of the mountain we were planning to ascend seemed far too much. Who was I to write a book? Who was I to do a teaching series? Who was I to launch out at a level that major publishing firms launch a book at? I had to respond by intentionally confessing — Who am I NOT to? God had placed this upon my heart, and if He called me to it, He had a plan through it.

Part of that plan was surrounding me with an amazing team whose confession has been nothing but “Yes, we can.” and “With God ALL things are possible.”

Countless volunteer man woman hours have gone into this project from Katherine Dizio studios. She is the director of our creative department and the brains behind the project. Then there is our amazing social media guru, Stephanie Spencer, and Donna Hoover who oversees the media department. Not to mention Sophia Rowe who keeps my head on my shoulders and is leading the launch team. I also had a guardian angel from Colorado, Brandi Rennemeyer, who read each chapter for content giving me the reader’s perspective before I placed the book in your sweet hands.

These women and countless others whispered confessions of faith when my confession was weak. They were the fuel that drove this project to completion. Who are you walking with? How is their confession impacting your confession? Are you the faith covering for another? We are designed to walk together. We are stronger together than we are apart. Stronghold, The Secrets Beyond the Wall,  is a vehicle for you to gather other women and friends around a table and build one another up in the faith! I can’t wait to share with you, the fruit of ALL our labor on March 14.

Hasn’t this journey been fun?
