Dear Friends,

So many of you started following my blog over 5 years ago. Thank you for sticking with me through the creative years, the confusing years, and the sparse years. Since you have stayed with me through it all, I wanted you to be the first to hear what’s been happening in my life. And let you know of some pretty big changes that are coming down the road.

See, I was sailing into spring feeling pretty confident. My speaking had been solid all year, and the ministry was growing stronger than ever before. My son was graduating and preparing for college, my daughter rededicated her life to Christ, and a wedding proposal was on the horizon. I felt like a decade of prayers were being answered. Then we were hit with a suddenly —the unexpected moment that shakes you to the core. My husband called me on the phone early one afternoon with the dreaded words, “I was laid off.”

In 30 years of being together he has always been the primary breadwinner and never without work. We were optimistic. Maybe 4 weeks at the most and he would have another job. Neither of us anticipated 16 weeks later he would still be searching for employment.

The layoff seemed to begin an avalanche effect on our life. Change was everywhere and answers were scarce. I was now considering a career move. Five years of developing a speaking platform, and I was pulling out my resume to look for a 9-5.

The Lord’s presence was palpable in our circumstances but His voice silent. It’s definitely an excellent faith stretching opportunity (written with a hint of sarcasm). The two of us are moving beyond the security of the faith boarders we’re used to living in. Yet, without a word God’s showing us that miracles live in these new lands.

The amazing peace we’ve sensed through this season has left Tom and I believing now is not the time for me to quit what I have been building these past 5 years. In fact, in the midst of all this crazy, it has become crystal clear God’s plan for me and Remade. And this dear friend is what I want to share with you!

I am returning to a regular blog schedule. The emphasis is overcoming life’s challenges through the word of God, and developing a trusted relationship with God in spite of it all. Let’s face it, trials are in no short supply for believers, but the practical knowledge to overcome and end up with greater, more stronger faith isn’t always easy to find.

I will share my personal overcoming moments, along with some stories of friends who have beat unimaginable odds. I want to teach you what we did to end up with a faith that is more unmovable than ever before. But I promise not to sugarcoat it one bit. Ima gonna give it to you straight because let’s face it, this Christian faith thing isn’t always sunshine and roses.

It’s my prayer that this space on the internet will become the door that opens up a trusted friendship between you and me. I can’t tell you how many times I wished I could have shared my I-think-I-am-losing-my-mind seasons with someone who had already been down that road. And that my dear friend is the single motivation for doing this — I want to be for you the very thing I needed but didn’t always have.

Beginning next week, each Monday you can expect a post in your inbox starting with these topics:

  • What I did when my child walked away from God..
  • What we need to do to keep contending when we want to quit believing.
  • 5 scriptures I pray over my family that got results.
  • Why we should get in the habit of journaling our prayers and how to do it effectively.

Additionally, you can catch me twice a week over at Remade’s private Facebook Community for a live chat on Monday’s for my #MentorMoment and Friday’s for my #FridayFacetime. Here I will go in-depth even more on the topics we are discussing on my blog, and you can jump in live and ask personal questions you might have about what we’re discussing.

It’s kind of crazy how a blinding storm can feel like it’s taking you further away from God’s plan. Only to end up right smack on His doorstep when the clouds clear. God is doing something new, and I really hope you’ll join me on this journey.

Much love,

PS… I would love to hear about some of the challenges you’re praying through. Or some personal struggles you wish you had a mentor-like friend to sit and have coffee with. Leave me a comment so we can chat about it, and I might be able to talk more in-depth about it in the future.

Thank you Jesus and thank you Beth for your faithfulness. I personally look forward to some practical applications. Loves

I knew from the first time I listened to you that God had made a connection. I have never joined a group like this before, but for some reason God wants me here. I came from a very broken childhood, a mentally not correct Mother, yet somehow I have always had such a love for life. I have never smoked, drank or done drugs but do fight a weight issue. I married at age 16 and am still with the same husband of 43 years, which is a journey in and of it’s self. So many times I wanted to walk away but I have always known that this would be my only marriage. Keep in mind that I did not come from a Godly home in any shape or form, but I always knew God loved me and I him. It has only been in the past 5 years that I have been going to Church (which is just another set of issues) and doing Bible Studies……. I love every day of my life and what every comes my way good or bad it just a blessing for something else to learn. So I am here for the long haul. Thank You Beth for being who you are and following God’s Word.
